Keeping your dog on a regular grooming schedule is of the utmost importance for over all health and hygiene maintenance. Regular bathing promotes healthy skin and coat, even on your short-haired dogs. Regular grooming prevents matting and impacted under coats. Regular nail trimming will eliminate splayed feet, which can contribute to arthritis later in life. Also regular nail trimming will keep the quick (vein) inside the nail nice and short, protecting nearby delicate skin and your hardwood floors!

The difference between a dog that is groomed every 3-6 months and a dog that is groomed every 2-7 weeks is one dog thinks its being punished while the other thinks this is part of life.

At Plush Paws we strongly recommend a regular grooming schedule that suits your dogs needs. No more then once every 2 weeks and no less then once every 7 weeks.

For the most part, no! Our van is equipped with a 65 gallon fresh water tank, AC for the summer, heater for the winter, 4 deep cycle lithium batteries with an invertor system for electricity etc. For the most part we are self sustainable! On the rare occasion I may need to plug into your home to run my clippers or the blow dryer. This takes no more power then a contractor might need to run their saw or drill. All I require is a flat/level surface to park close to your home.

Absolutely you are welcome to check out the van, we can even give you a quick tour before starting to work on your pup! In our experience having an owner present/within sight can be quite a distraction and therefore make the grooming process difficult and even dangerous. With that being said we do not allow owners to remain present for a grooming session. We ask that you do not come to the window or knock on the door while a grooming session is under way. If you must get ahold of us while we’re working on your dog please text us!

For the first appointment, yes you do need to be home to hand over your dog. However once we’ve established a relationship I can offer latch key service, meaning you provide me with a way in (key/code) to keep on file. At your dogs scheduled appointment I’ll bring them out and back in. This is an added benefit of mobile grooming, imagine coming home from work or running errands and your dog is already clean and groomed?!

Mobile grooming offers so many advantages to you and your pet.
